You know how much we all love our doggy friends and how excited they get when we bring home a new bag of dogfood? They hear the rustling of the bag and wait impatiently for a bite of their fresh, yummy food… Wait, the bag WILL NOT rip open, even with the little string easy open option… you have to find a pair of strong scissors first. Meanwhile the poopy dogs are drooling on your clean floor!

I was sent a new product by Slice – a Box Cutter. Not only is it orange and black (easy to find), but ergonomically designed with a ceramic blade. The ceramic blade makes opening the bag of dog food a piece of cake and it slices through cardboard easily. The double ended, easily changeable, ceramic blade lasts much longer (10 times) than steel and the cutter has storage for extra blades. This is such a great feature because you don’t have to go in search of your spare blades when you need to change to a new one! Brilliant, huh? My only suggestion is to make a perforated opening in the back of the package for easy opening – you know how difficult it is to break into plastic or cardboard packaging, lol.

Check out the poopy dogs, Relic and Ocean, awaiting their dinner as we demo this cool product! Please note I said this box cutter won’t cut you – actually, as with any sharp object it may cut or hurt you, but the risk is reduced with the handle design and the slightly rounded tip on the ceramic blade.

Ready to order your own cool Slice Box Cutter? Click on the highlighted link or picture. I’m thinking these box cutters would make excellent stocking stuffers!

Does Content Monetization Actually Work and Why Does it Really Matter?
by Murray Newlands

In simple words, content monetization is the process of earning money through written content.

There are several ways to attain this. You can earn money by either selling the actual content or by working on internet-based writing activities. In the first method, buyers of your content can be anyone from artists to publishers. In the second method, you can take part in one of the many possibilities available through the internet that allows you to make money from something aside from the actual content. Some of these opportunities arise from the use of Google’s AdSense, sale of consultancy or advertising for a small business.

It’s important to know this technique in order to enhance your text to reach your readers’ expectations. In order to catch the attention of your readers, you’ll have to deliver the content while keeping your specific audience’s interests in mind. You need to communicate to your readers the reason you’re writing the piece.

There are several ways that you can monetize your content. When writing for a newspaper, you need to write articles in a way that can attract the reader’s attention. You earn money though writing a compelling piece that editors of the specific paper want to pay you for one time. You also need to make it an interesting, engaging article for those who want to advertise in the paper, so that the paper can earn from business relations, readers, advertisers, etc.

If you are acting as an advertiser, you need to design the content according to the market. You need to make potential customers of your product or services know the qualities of your product. Your goal is ultimately to convince them to purchase your product or services.

If you want to sell your business ideas, you need to focus the content of the ideas. This enables your customers to see your ideas again and again and allows them to get accustomed to them. If you are a website owner, you can significantly raise your website’s income by advertising with the help of marketing tools like Google’s AdSense, paid posts and link insertion.

Maybe you’re a part-time blogger that doesn’t make very much money from your website. But why not earn money from your work? Wouldn’t it be great if you could make money from your hobby? If you want to boost your blogging income, you can use link insertion as a simple tool for content monetization of your blog. All you need to do is to insert some of java script code in your site and this can monetize your site automatically. The software will use words and phrases from blogs and use them to link it to relevant advertisers.

Another useful tool for advertising is INTENTclick, which provides an alternative basis for your content monetization. This tool is especially useful for content, which are for advertisement of products or services in origin. You can find more details about these helpful internet advertisement techniques in the book “INTENTclick: In-Text Advertising Secrets

Disclosure: I am working for the company INTENTclick.

buy.at “Twitter A Winner” Contest!

You know I love entering contests, right?  Well, of course I do – especially when the prizes are exciting, fabulous, useful, fun or delicious!

Before I attended Affiliate Summit East 2011 in New York City I entered the buy.at “Twitter a Winner” contest. It’s an easy-enter contest – just submit your Twitter name to be in the draw. During the two day opening of the Expo Hall at ASE11, buy.at tweeted to the winners to drop by their booth to claim their prize. Lucky me, I was watching my twitter stream and sure enough I received a tweet.
Of course I dropped everything and asked a friend to hold down the fort (the blogger lounge) until I got back. When I arrived at the buy.at booth, Amy Ely said I won a fabulous Designers Guild Wool Blanket. Blankets, quilts, and throws are one of my favorite items – and I couldn’t even guess at how many I have – but I have a collection which means more than three!

I absolutely love the warmth and coziness of this blanket and the silk edging – it combines the comfort of old fashioned wool in a whole new contemporary style with the blend of colors and pattern. My daughter saw the blanket in my suitcase when I arrived home and immediately tried to take ownership! She’s 29 – yep, some things never change :)

Designers Guild Winner

It’s now on our attic bed where she sleeps whenever she comes to visit. I know my granddaughter will love snuggling under it as well. It’s a beauty and I will treasure it, but I will also use it as it provides much joy and remembrances of a great contest, great group of people and the best conference ever.

Thanks so much Designers Guild and buy.at for this fabulous prize during the Twitter a Winner contest!
