The 200 MPH Lethal Velocity Blogger Challenge from Affiliate Wire, a division of Revenue Wire, is ON!.

Why on earth would anyone want to drive 200 MPH in a Delorean, Ferrari, Mercedez or Bentley??? Well, why not…. it’s a chance to drive an exotic supercar down an airstrip in the Mojave Desert. The challenge is to crack the 200MPH barrier and take your place in an exclusive group of other drivers who have reached this prestigious milestone.

I’m a daredevil at heart – not quite Evil Knievel style daring, but I love the thrill of a waterslide, a rollercoaster, shooting the Squirrell Cove Rapids in my wetsuit, zip lining in Mexico, scuba diving the GBR, or going all out to win a huge $10,000.00 prize of airfare, hotel, 3 days in the Mojave Desert driving FAST cars and living dangerously.  LOL – are you laughing at me yet?

Driving a car that is rated 3.7 seconds to 60 MPH should be a piece of cake – well, as long as I don’t miss a shift! So, I’m entering a contest to win:

The 200 MPH Challenge which takes place on the runway at the Mojave Airfield, 50 miles East of L.A. Check out the CARS!

Partying in Las Vegas after a full day work at Affiliate Summit is hard work, but so much fun and plumb full of awesome networking opportunities.

Friday night Steve Hall, Murray Newlands and I held a Tweetup at Gilley’s Bar in Treasure Island.  People came and left throughout the night and a rough count indicates we had 55 – 60 people.  Doesn’t sound like much, but we threw this party together last minute to fill a gap in the party schedule.

The Barbecue food looked and smelled awesome, but we ordered a sample platter to try the selections. The dance floor was crowded once or twice, with very entertaining country music dancers. The Bull Riding was the highlight of the evening of course and we all had great fun watching. One or two of our group actually rode the bull and made us proud.

The “DJ” who operated the bull, in conjunction with the music, made it the funniest event ever.  When the girls got on the bull he started off with the bull jiggling, then rotating around, up, down, back with smooth movements.  The ride eventually became rough enough to buck people off.  The absolute funniest part was when the girls would fall forward toward the bull’s neck, the operator kept them there by jiggling the bull – of course ‘everything’ jiggled. The party was a lot of fun and we had 50 – 60 people attend throughout the evening. Next time, we will be MUCH better prepared with sponsors and better seating!

Last night we started with an IntentClick Party at the Galleria Bar, then on to the ShareASale Party at Chateau Nightclub in the Paris Hotel.   We were enjoying a drink on the main level when Steve Hall came to find us to say there was a fabulous rooftop.  Up we went to find the most amazing view of the Eiffel Tower and a beautiful (huge) rooftop with booth seating, bar, dance floor and tons of desserts.

ShareASale never ceases to amaze me with their incredible parties, themes and venues. The Chateau Night Club was the most awesome setting yet. All Affiliate Summit attendees are always invited to their parties.

From ShareASale we took a cab to the Hardwood Suite at the Palms to party with Double Play Media at the TipOff Party. It was a small space, extremely crowded and rocking with house music. There was a soaker tub big enough for 12 in the middle of the room so a bunch of us climbed in (we emptied the dirty water first – lol) and sat on the side with our feet dangling in. Some joker turned on the water and soaked my shoes but it actually felt good.

After a couple of drinks and much laughing we decided to go midnight bowling with the Affiliate Marketers Give Back group. The annual bowling tournament is hosted by GTO Management and all proceeds are donated to Missy Ward’s team of Avon Walkers fundraising efforts. Cold beer was awaiting us and we ordered totally greasy pepperoni pizza and it was perfect. We didn’t even finish the first game (of four) and realized we needed to head back to Caesars Palace after a very full night.

Monday morning was going to be a 9 am start for most of us, and 4 hours sleep is really rough, 4 nights in a row!

Here’s the tip of the day from one of the speakers: To prevent your voice becoming raspy during a conference where you will be speaking more than usual (especially in the desert air) put a pat of butter in your coffee in the morning! It helps to soothe and coat your sore throat.

Day 1 in the Blogger Lounge was so busy I didn’t get to write one word to update you as to the goings-on!

Brilliant Bloggers!

Meeting old friends and making brand new friends is a wonderful part of Affiliate Summit.  The people I have come to know over the past 5 years who are involved in the affiliate marketing world, are like family.  Everyone is excited to be here to learn, teach, gain new customers and network.

Jenga

The bloggers/press are a special group of people – some work very hard while they are in the lounge and others come in to chill out, enjoy a board game, drink coffee or talk to whomever is around.  There’s usually a LOT of laughter involved and I must say it’s not easy to pay attention to blogging!  I had to put a time limit on the working.  3 of us are sitting quietly writing our blog posts for 15 minutes.

Jen Goode Fanclub!

The Jenga Championship and Othello Championship are ON!  We have great prizes donated for daily winners.  Press Pass badge holders are welcome to come join in the fun.  Yesterday, KarenGarcia won a “Free one hour domain name consultation from @MorganLinton at morganlinton.com”

Our prizes today are a “Free UBuild App from @BradWaller at UBuildApp.com”, a “$25.00 GC from @fanaticsaff at Fanatics.com” and a “Tweet” from @johnchow at johnchow.com.

For the Win!

Jen Goode couldn’t be with us at Affiliate Summit this year but Brad Waller brought her to be here in spirit!  She is going everywhere whether she knows it or not & is hanging out with lots of good friends.

The blogger lounge is open until 6 pm today.

Drop by to say hi!
