Pop and I went ling cod fishing last week, and took along a couple of friends. Len caught a big cod but the old reel he was using was a knuckle-buster and he didn’t have the drag set correctly, so it spun out of control, creating a huge bird’s nest in the line.

Three years ago, a huge storm ripped through Egmont, downing 100’s of trees and cutting electricity for 10 days. If you recall, the same storm decimated Stanley Park.

Last Saturday, Kent, Pop and I went to the Egmont Heritage Center Museum for a ‘Fishing Stories’ discussion panel. Pop was asked to be one of the members and he gladly agreed!

On Monday, Kent and I drove to Egmont to bring Pop, his motorhome, and his tin boat on trailer, home with us. Kent and Pop (yes, my 95 year old ‘Pop’) are going moose hunting!

Watch as this little ‘devilfish’ makes his way safely back to the ocean after we released him from our prawn trap. I hope he considers himself lucky to live another day to eat more of our prawns!
