Most Memorable Moment:

Jim Kukral has some Amazing Affiliate Super Friends! Before his Keynote Speech at Affiliate Summit East 2010 in New York City, the caped crusaders of this elite affiliate group (to which you cannot buy admission) followed him toward the stage to front row seats.  Of course when he saw them and realized they wore masks and fabulous satin capes in his honor he was duly humbled and relieved to know his friends had his back.

Karen Garcia made the 24 capes and the Super Affiliate’s dressed up in the Blogger Lounge with a lot of laughs, photos and secrecy.  Here they are, flying off down the hall!

Meanwhile back in the lounge a few of us watched the UStream of Jim’s speech.  Unfortunately we didn’t have a cable to give us sound so we had to lip-read.  It was a very motivational session!

Most Memorable People:

Kim Ann Curtin brought a huge box of the world famous Magnolia Cupcakes and John Chow made sure we had a good supply of beer.  Actually John and my daughter Crystal made a ‘beer run’ about 2 pm, walking through the Exhibit Hall asking everyone they saw for their excess drink tickets.  They came back with 2 burly men and 96 beer on ice!  Nice going guys.

Most Memorable SWAG:

Way too numerous and fun to actually single out one giveaway, but I must say the t-shirts were totally amazing this year.  Affiliate.com always has THE shirt of the conference that everyone wants.  It might not be the turquoise t-shirteveryone was carrying around from Plenty of Fish, but it’s definitely the one I will wear until it wears out!

The SWAG everyone loved the most??? CASH! Moniker.com was handing out $50 bills to people wearing their t-shirts – how awesome is that? I suggested to a young lady that she wear a t-shirt to their booth to try to win and she was a little hesitant, and asked if she could tie it on – sure whatever – if you put it over your shoulders you might have a slim chance of winning. She became extremely creative all of a sudden and tied one around her waist and the other around her bust. She looked like she was wearing a very sexy Moniker.com dress and was totally blown away when she came back to the Blogger Lounge to tell me she WON $50.

RevEngine had a wheel to spin to win prizes (in exchange for your name and email address of course) so Crystal and I tried, hoping to win an iPad (too bad they were all gone), but Crystal won $100 and I won a cute t-shirt with a Boston Terrier picture.

Buy.at hosted a contest on their blog before Affiliate Summit. I can’t resist a contest so of course I signed up then I noticed they were tweeting names of winners. How brilliant is that? People started coming in the Blogger Lounge with their winnings – like 5 pounds of Ghirardelli Chocolate! After an agonizing wait to see if I would be one of the lucky winners, my name was tweeted. I went to the booth to see Amy Ely and Charlie Calabrese and sure enough, I popped a balloon that won me the much coveted Ghirardelli!

Hosting the Blogger Lounge was pure pleasure.  I met so many new people and bonded with others I met previously.  I feel as though I made life-long friends.  Here are my Flickr photos.
