When affiliate.com invited me to blog, tweet and update their Facebook page during ad:tech, I was super excited to fly to San Francisco to meet the team of 16!
Marissa Louie
I arrived Monday, late afternoon and met up with Tom Wozniak, Social Media Director of affiliate.com, for dinner at the Chinese Restaurant, Fang’s. The food was amazing – beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. I’d highly recommend the restaurant, and it was actually recommended to me the next day by a friend who lives in the area. You know the food must be exceptional when locals eat there.

After dinner we walked across the street to the Roe Restaurant, which doesn’t appear to be a restaurant at all, but was
the perfect venue for the ad:tech “Opening Night Party” hosted by Murray Newlands. Unfortunately, due to Mother Nature and the Iceland volcano which was spewing ash into the atmosphere, cancelling all flights to and from Great Britain, Murray wasn’t able to attend his own party.

Murray sent a YouTube video, extending his welcome, and Marissa Louie, Steve Hall, Ben Parr and Brian Solis each added their welcome and thanks to all who attended. The room was packed solid and it was nearly impossible to move through the crowd.

It was a perfect kick-off party, to greet old friends, and meet new people. Thanks Murray!
