The Globe and Mail Reviews Fiverr

Are you hooked on Fiverr? The The Globe and Mail wants to know. It seems a lot of people are using it, tweeting about it and hopefully earning money. I know I’ve been spending money there!
The concept is so simple – which always helps to make a site popular and useful. Once you sign up you may list a service that you will perform for five dollars. The service may be writing, advertising, graphics, music, programming, social media, etc. You name it and it’s probably being offered. If not, you may put in a request for someone to offer the gig of your choice.
I listed a few services and small items. People offer to send postcards from wherever they are, so I decided to offer to send beach glass or an Expo 86 lapel pin from British Columbia. My ads were accepted, so now I’m waiting for the emails and my fiverrs!
It seems Fiverr has caught the attention of the Globe and Mail as Wency Leung, a reporter, emailed to ask if I would do a short interview via phone. Of course I said yes. She was great – very conversational and asked lots of interesting questions. She is writing an article about earning money with Fiverr and if/how it will make a difference in people’s lives.
I wasn’t exactly the perfect interview because I’m not trying to earn a living with Fiverr and it’s not likely to make a significant impact in my life to earn a fiverr now and then. Now, if you have a service that is in demand, you may earn fairly good money.
Someone on Fiverr offered to make a website banner and I took him/her up on it. I paid via PayPal and the result was great. I was very pleased with the quality and the quick turnaround. He/she was obviously happy to have the work.
There is a ‘Fun/Bizarre’ category and also one for ‘Silly Stuff’ – they are the ones I enjoy reading the most. It’s sort of like reading the ‘personals’ in the paper – people willing to sell their souls and such.
Be sure to come back to let me know how you like Fiverr. What are you going to list or buy for a fiverr?
