Hugo Stops to Smell the Flowers

When Hugo and I were waiting for the ferry at Horseshoe Bay we had time for a walk to the park and waterfront.
We watched kids throw stones in the water, met a few other doggies and stopped to smell the daffodils.
This picture really shows the difference in Hugo’s eye color. His left eye is 1/3 blue, inherited from his doggy daddy who’s eye is 1/2 blue. People always ask if he’s blind or if he has a cataract. That’s not the case at all – it’s just Mother Nature working her magic.
I have a friend who is a Doctor of Ophthalmology and when we were visiting one day, I asked him to look at Hugo to hear his opinion. He did a few little tests, studied the eye and assured me Hugo was not having any trouble seeing out of that eye. Now that’s a friend indeed!
Hugo does have a a problem with floppy ears – they should stand straight up and sometimes the left ear does. He looks very odd with one up and one down, but it suits his quirky little personality.

Hugo is darling! I would love to see him smelling the daffodils. What a guy! As to IZEAfest, we can do it … just all get together and give each other good tips. That is usually the best part of the learning, for me anyway. Well, the speakers are awesome of course! We can have “readings” from the best of the best. Come on down Heather!
