The Sunshine Coast is one of the most beautiful places in British Columbia.

I know that for a fact as I’ve suffered in silence for 2 days now, with the rain pouring down. Of course, to be so beautifully green, lush & brilliant our trees, grass, flowers and weeds need the water.

BUT – 4 inches is enough already!

Pop was looking at his boat this evening through the binoculars and thought it looked low in the water at the stern. I put on my raincoat with hood and my flippy floppies and Hugo and I went to the dock to have a look. Sure enough the stern had about 1/2 inch of water over the floorboards.

The electric bilge pump hadn’t come on and the boat was slowly sinking.

I flipped the switch and much to my relief, the pump came on. It ran for 5 or 6 minutes before sucking air. Phew!!! That was lucky.

Good eyes on my 96 year old Pop, huh?
