Easter Birds Nests

Hoppy Easter!

My Granddaughter, Kaia, came over last night to have dinner with us. Hugo absolutely loves her and follows her up and down the stairs and watches everything she does. Our friend Katie let Kaia play with her beautiful parasol. Of course I had to get out my camera when I saw them!

After dinner I got out these few simple ingredients to make Easter Birds Nests.
Kaia said she wanted to eat it all when she saw the ymmy melted chocolate & shreddies, so I suggested she stick her face in it – I guess she’s not quite ready for the ‘cake plow’ yet!
Kaia and I have been making birds nests for 3 years – so it’s a ‘tradition’ – and not just for little kids. Even the big kids like getting in on the action. Here are the girls and Ted Murphy admiring their creations.

Kaia thought the picture of Ted was very funny and asked if he was a real person. I said yes, and then she asked if he was my boyfriend. Of course I said yes to that too – so she picked him and up kissed him and said she just married him!

I asked her to hold him up and stick out her tongue like he was doing…

… and she said, “Now, we’re not married!” It was one of those cute kid moments that makes life so much fun!
Happy Easter!

ReplyFirst, I love seeing her with the parasol and Hugo looking up at her. Priceless. Then, how sweet that you two have a tradition. You are the bestest. Great fun with Ted. LOL at the marrying part.
