Prawn Fishing

Here are a few prawn fishing photos – not having very much luck today! I think there will be just enough for a late afternoon snack.
Here are Don and John working hard for their dinner!

This is what happens when your trap gets stuck on a rock or an old sunken log and you try to use the power of the boat to pull it free…

This is our new ferry on the Earls Cove to Saltery Bay run.

Hugo loves being on the boat and runs in one pilot house door and out the other, then to bow then to the stern. There’s always so much to see and hear!

The mountains looked beautiful today in the sunshine… the luke warm sunshine.

Ew that octopus is giving me the creeps! THe doggie looks so cute looking over the water. Looks like you caught a few prawns, better luck next time!
ReplyI have to ask…has Hugo ever fallen off the boat? I have a feeling we’d be yelling “weiner overboard” if it were Ollie.
ReplyYeah, your catch is not that many but with the awesome nature that surrounded you, you guys surely had fun. I wish I have a boat too because I like to experience fishing for prawns hehehe and enjoy the sailing over moonlight.
ReplyIs that what a prawn looks like? I didn’t think they had little suckers on their tentacles

ReplyThanks Lady Grace. Prawn fishing is very inconsistent – but we keep trying!

ReplyHaha Corrin – yes, Hugo has gone over the side quite a few times – and he doesn’t like it! It embarrasses him, but he’s a good swimmer when it’s his choice

ReplyHi Mike, we really do have some beautiful country here – especially when there is fresh snow on the mountains.

ReplyMaureen – the animal with the tentacles is an octopus – we were just being silly with it, but we let it go back in the water after we took a few pics. It ‘inked’ us then swam away!
@starryskye81 Yes, I sure have been boating! Here are a few photos from yesterday: http://bit.ly/14RXb Whatsup w/you?
