Spring Boating Fever

It was another beautiful day on the water, with a bit of a breeze, a few clouds but plenty of blue sky. We left the Nico Wynd Marina about 11 am and headed downriver to Crescent Beach Marina where we had to wait 15 minutes for the train bridge attendant to open the bridge to let us out the channel.

The waves were hitting us on the starboard bow and spraying right over the windshield until we made a turn past the marker and crossed the Canada/US border. Kent called US Customs to say we were about to enter the US and asked for clearance. We are both Nexus members which makes entering the US a simple process.

As we passed through the breakwater into Blaine Harbour, I put out the fenders and prepared the lines. We docked at the gas float and I carried on with my blogging while Kent fueled up. When finished we headed in to Blaine Marina and I took a ton of pictures of the commercial and pleasure boats in the Marina. We tied up near our friend Gerry’s boat and the three of us enjoyed lunch and a beer.

I took lots of video and pictures on the way back to Nico Wynd. It was a great day on the water – still too chilly to be out on deck for long, but it’s getting warmer every day!
