Egmont History

Blogging is changing my world and I love it!
Picture this: A man I’ve never met who is nephew to my Grade 1 school teacher, Gladys McNutt found my blog through my posts about my ‘Pop’ and Egmont. He contacted me to say he inherited his Aunt’s old ‘Egmont’ photo albums and offered to send me some community pictures.
Of course, I was very excited to hear this and replied immediately. George Disney, also nephew to 2 bachelor men who were early residents of Egmont and good friends of my parents, began scanning old photos and sending them to me, saying he hoped the Museum might appreciate them.
Oh, yes – the Egmont Heritage Museum will appreciate these photos tremendously, as will the new Egmont Fire Hall and many of the descendants of the people in these pictures (many of whom who are related to me!).
Of course I showed ‘Pop’ all the pictures and he started reminiscing about the ‘old days’. He was in one of the photos and after thinking for a while, he remembered exactly why he was in the photo and where it was taken.
I’ll tell you all about it really soon as I’m still doing some research on dates and more information!

Very cool! I can’t wait to hear the story.
ReplyI second that. It is amazing how people are able to connect up these days.
