Cool Creatures of the Sea

Dolphins seem to be everyone’s favorite mammal, with their smiling faces, friendliness and amazing intelligence. Their social behavior is fascinating and they are a delight to watch in the wild, or for a really up-close experience – at SeaWorld in Orlando!

Did you know female dolphins blow bubbles underwater then move them around, pushing their noses through the centers, changing the shapes, breaking them, biting at them to make them disappear, then doing it all over again! They even seem to teach others to play and enjoy the delightful game.

Check out the dolphin bubbles blog to learn more about the friendly dolphins. There are videos and tons of pictures showing the fun children (and their parents) enjoy feeding dolphins, petting them and watching them perform amazing feats. These are stories by families who have been there and wanted to share their joy. Be sure to leave a comment if you enjoy the stories, videos and pictures.

Not only is this a fun site, but very informative with plenty of facts about these dolphins and others. I think your children will get a real kick out of watching the videos.

This amazing video showing the dolphins blowing bubbles and playing with them was recently on ABC’s World News with Charles Gibson:

Crystal and I are going to Orlando in October to attend IZEAFest. It is to be held AT SeaWorld so I’m hoping we will have a chance to see the dolphins display this amazing behavior. I’ll be the one glued to the viewing area, waiting for my friends, the dolphins to entertain me by blowing bubbles!
