Hummingbird Nest

Is there anyone out there who doesn’t stop for a brief second when they hear the whir of hummingbird wings? You see a flash of brilliant red or perhaps green, see the long beak taking a sip from a flowers nectar and you have to marvel at the speed and beauty.
Let me introduce Phoebe, the hummingbird. She has a perfectly shaped cozy nest in a rose bush and is sitting on two tiny eggs which should hatch very soon – and we are able to watch her in action – live, via Ustream, thanks to the webcam set up near her nest.
I find this tiny harmless glimpse into nature’s amazing gift to be fascinating and could sit here for hours watching, waiting, hoping to see the tiny beaks of the chicks breaking through the shells!

Thanks for visit, will investigate. Bit busy but will send you an email soon.

ReplyHummingbirds are so neat. When I was growing up there was an elderly couple who lived next door and I remember the lady loved them. She had a feeder on the porch and would sit in her chair and watch them and she’d tell me all about them.
