A House is Not a Home Without a Dog!

Six years ago, I’d have told you you were nuts if you thought I’d want a dog in my life.

I’ve always been a cat person because my family had cats from the time I was born. Of course I bonded with all the kitties in my life – how could I not? I sat beside the momma kitties, watching and encouraging them through birth. It was an amazing experience and one I think every child should be able to see.

Dogs were okay, but big and messy or yappy and annoying. I hated eating at friends’ houses and having the dog begging – or worse, sitting on an extra chair at the table. The absolute worst situation was serving a lovely meal outside at the picnic table and having the big wet dog come running from the lake and shaking. Of course, the dogs always had to come near me to shake. Arrrrrggggg…. I hated that….

Funny how life changes! Hugo entered my life and changed it for the better. This picture says it all – YES, I bought the plaque and I bought the rubber lady chicken and I took the picture of my adorable Granddog, Hugo! I don’t mind his ear deafening high pitched barking, having him lick my hand or even cuddle up under the covers.

He is the cutest dog in the world and my house feels more like a home with him around!

Hugo is adorable. Makes me miss my dogs while we are gone. What do you mean by Granddog? Is he your daughter’s dog? I am easily confused. LOL

My family didn’t get a dog until I was in college, and my sister and I used to fanatically wash out hands after petting him and keep him away from our food. Last night, I gave my dog a lick of ice cream…off the same spoon I was eating with. How things change!

I’m an animal person in general, but dogs are my absolute favorite. I have 2 of my own, and 2 my parents kept when I went away to college. You definitely get attached like they’re kids! While I don’t buy my dogs clothes, they are definitely spoiled by treats and trips to the dog park. What about Hugo?
