Making Memories and Valentine’s Cookies

I love making cookies with my Granddaughter Kaia and she always seems eager, so it’s becoming a tradition for holidays, birthdays, or just because.

Kaia and Sean came over yesterday afternoon and the three of us made heart shaped sugar cookies then decorated them with pink icing and sprinkles.

It was messy but so much fun. The mess just doesn’t bother me anymore – we ended up with flour on ourselves, the chairs and the floor, and sprinkles were rolling off the island onto the floor, to never be seen again. I think Hugo ate them because they disappeared!

I was never so relaxed when my kids were young – life was way too busy and everything had to be perfect all the time. NO MESSES were allowed in my kitchen, or in my life.

Now my kitchen is a mess and my life is a mess, but I’m having fun and making memories
