Sunday Afternoon Exploring – on the Web!

I seldom go snooping around trying to find new sites and new ideas, but today I had a few hours on my hands and happened across two cool, new (to me) sites on SocialSpark and thought I’d see what they were all about. I realized I’d never clicked on the ‘Solutions Center’ and decided it was time!
I didn’t even know what the ‘Solution Center’ was about, but I discovered some very interesting tools.
The first was JargonFish under ‘Content Linking’. I have seen this on many blogs in the past, but didn’t know anything about the company. You will now see on some of my posts, words in blue – they are keywords linked to sites like Amazon, YouTube, Flick’r, etc and when clicked upon – by interested people like you – provide me with revenue and the businesses with customers! I have no idea how successful this revenue stream will be, but I love trying new things.
The second really awesome site I found was under ‘Widgets’ and is RockYou. I love widgets – as you can tell from my sidebar and RockYou had plenty of widgets and applications to use with Facebook, MySpace and more! While looking at the FB tools, I found a tool which allowed me to ’sparkle’ up my text. I’ve been wanting a chilly signature (to represent the winter in BC) to use on a forum and I started experimenting, with this as the result.
So, what do you think? Does it look like I’m shivering up here in chilly British Columbia? What have you been up to this Sunday afternoon?

Your finds sound like fun so I’ll go check them out. I Love your signature, very tastefully done, not too flashy – congratulations!!
ReplyDoes JArgonfish give you any control over what your blog now links to? Or do you not find out until you’ve posted?

ReplyYou enter keywords when setting up – or enter words you do NOT wish to be targeted.

ReplyHey Cady – I hadn’t looked in my account to see if I’d had any clicks! Disappointed when I did – only my 2 clicks when I first set up – but, it’s only been a day and a half – I’ll give it a few weeks to see how it does though
I tried JargonFish I didn’t like it… it slowed things down on the blog. I love widgets… I will check them out.
