Vancouver, Cloaked in Fog

Fog has socked in Vancouver and the lower Mainland for more than a week now. I don’t know who took this fabulous photo – it was emailed to me – but it’s incredible! Edited: Credit given to Scott Miller, Vancouver Sun Photographer – thanks Kat!

This morning as we were driving through Vancouver heading for Horseshoe Bay I could see the fog freezing onto car antennas. That was something I don’t recall seeing before.

Both pictures are great, but WOW on the Vancouver one! What a GORGEOUS and BEAUTIFUL city. One I need to visit before I die for sure!

That is beautiful. My husbands cousin lives near Horseshoe Bay. I have a picture of the bay in a frame on my bedroom wall!

This version of the photo was taken by Vancouver Sun reporter Scott Miller – it was published in the Sun on Jan. 22.

There is another photo circulating taken by Blair Kent (a friend of a friend of mine) that you can see posted here: http://www.buzzbishop.com/blog/2009/01/23/who-took-the-picture-of-vancouver-in-the-fog/ where there was an ongoing discussion about who took it.

Wow! That first fog photo is very cool. I would love to visit Vancouver again. When we were kids, my parents and my brothers went twice in back to back summers but the last time was probably 1986 or so. I remember loving Vancouver Island and thought it was so cool to get my picture taken in front of a sign in Courtenay that had my name (spelled properly!) on it.
