Security Issue

A few days ago I wrote a post about buying a sweater in Macy’s when Crystal and I were in Bellingham.

When I put it on Saturday afternoon for our Christmas Lights cruise, I discovered the security tag was still attached to the side bottom hem. Great – it was a dye tag so I left it alone and wore it, even though Kent was all ready to get his hammer, pry bar and pliers out to take a go at it.

I am absolutely not driving back to Bellingham just to get this tab off – it’s 45 minutes each way with a border crossing involved. I’d rather wear it with the tab!

Today, Crystal and I were out shopping and I went in to 8 different stores trying to find someone with the correct removal tool. They all shook their heads and commiserated with me but no one had the right tool.

Finally I found a cashier in La Senza who knew exactly how to remove the darn thing. She said to put the sweater in the freezer for a few hours to freeze the dye, then to attach a plastic bag very tightly around the tab and use something to pry the bottom piece off.

What do you think? Will this be successful?
