On the road again – heading home… to grey clouds and drizzle. YUCK – I need more blue skies in my life!

Kent and I left Las Vegas at 7 am Wednesday morning and drove until 10:30 pm, finally checking in to a Best Western for too few hours. We were back on the road again at 7 after a quick continental breakfast. I couldn’t even tell you what town we stayed in, although I do know we were still in California since I saw the welcome to Oregon sign this morning!
We’re towing a trailer full of ‘stuff’ and Betty Boop is sitting in the backseat, being our third passenger for the HOV lanes.
I have to tell you the fuel prices – the high in North East California was $4.299 and the lowest so far was Eugene Oregon $3.299. CRAZY, price differences, huh?
We stopped for dinner at the ‘Black Bear’ restaurant – a chain which serves ‘homestyle’ portions. We enjoyed our special of the day, Chicken Pot Pie with salad or soup, a side and garlic bread, and I think the price was $11.99. I’d recommend Black Bear as a decent, clean, friendly place living up to it’s credos printed on the placemats!
When I powered up my computer once in the truck this morning I was dismayed to see it hadn’t charge overnight – darn hotel plug-in. So, I was computerless until noon when we at last saw a “Best Buy” where I could buy an inverter. Now for some reason I cannot connect to the internet through my aircard….gaaaaaaaaahhhhh… if it’s not one thing, it’s another… Perhaps once my battery is sufficiently charged it will connect. Oh, now I remember – I have to completely shut everything down, take out the aircard and start from scratch to make it work. Strange…
Another 7 or 8 hours and we’ll be home – hurray! I love going away – especially to Las Vegas, but I hate the long hours of driving Kent loves so much.
