If It Ain’t Broke, Don’t Fix It!

Imagine being 94 1/2 years young and having a doctor tell you you’re getting healthier as you age! The doctors are always amazed to see how sharp Pop is and they always compliment him on being much younger in spirit than in age and they tell him he’s healthier than their younger patients.
Pop saw the Urologist this morning and his assessment was, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. Actually those were my words, but he agreed wholeheartedly.
I filled out an assessment form for Pop, at the office, and his answer to every question was ’0″ on a scale of 0 to 5, with 0 indicating ‘no difficulty’. How often does a 94 year old answer that positively? The doctor seemed to be a little confused as to why Pop was even in his office, but he was referred by his doctor – just in case – so we went to the appointment.
The doctor sent Pop on his way with a light heart and a great outlook. We celebrated with lunch at McDonalds!

You do know that these posts about Pop really make me smile!
ReplyI can only hope when/if I hit that age I can say zero as well.
Replythats crazy that hes doing so well at such a late age. i wonder how long his parents lived to be, and if it has something to do with his genetics…
ReplyMy grandmother is 99 and healthy. Can’t say that she is getting healthier as she is aging, she is definitely weaker than she was 5 years ago. But that is only physically, mentally she is as sharp as she was 30 years ago
ReplyI can only wish to be that well at that age.
mikster: You’ll probably be that crotchety ole man just like in yer picture on your blog lol
