Turducken

I’ve never eaten ‘Turducken‘, but my brother says he’s cooking one (it, them…) for Christmas dinner – at our house! That’s good news, he and Lise are coming to spend Christmas with us.
Turducken is a turkey stuffed with a duck which is stuffed with a chicken and each is deboned and separated by a layer of stuffing then tied together and roasted. Sounds yummy, but is a labour intensive project. Graeme is a ‘DIY’ kind of guy and will do the deboning and stuffing and trussing.
Pop really likes to help as well and he’s great at chopping any vegetables we need. He sits in his bar stool at the island with a cutting board in front of him and goes to work – he’s a big help – especially since he doesn’t mind doing onions!
So, that’s GREAT! I’m off the hook for cooking the turkey – and the rest of the dinner is easy and I’ll have lots of help. Lise is excellent in the kitchen and so is Crystal. Kent always peels the potatoes, carrots and turnip and I buy frozen brussel sprouts.
Making the Christmas pudding and the cranberry sauce will be my main jobs – oh and drinking the champagne.
