“Two Shots, Right in the Head”

Please don’t read this post if you don’t want to hear about moose hunting…

Kent phoned me yesterday morning to check in while he had cell service. He and Pop are somewhere between Quesnel and Williams Lake, moose hunting for 10 days and only have service if they are 50 or so miles from camp.

My first question was, of course, did you shoot your moose yet? Kent and Pop have a limited entry ‘group hunt’ tag for a cow moose. “Sure did! Two shots, right in the head”, was his answer. He sounded proud of his skill!

The group of 7 or 8 hunters plans to ‘break camp’ Wednesday evening after a final day of hunting then head toward home on Thursday morning. Hopefully, by then they’ll have a calf or an immature bull as well as the cow. We’ll eat well this winter.
